Design, good quality fabrics and care are at the heart of our business

Terry and Angelika met over thirty years ago and created a clothing company that has grown into something much more than just a design label. There is a sense of community among their customers, many becoming longstanding friends who are proud to own a wardrobe predominated by the Terry Macey label.

Their clothes are designed for all women, regardless of age or size, clothing that is essentially about joy and personal statement, rather than popular trends.

There is no right or wrong way to wear our clothes

Their attention to detail, craftsmanship and hands on approach with customers has become a trademark to their success. It starts at the drawing board and is followed through to fittings and fabric advice, whether in the studio, by phone or at events in other parts of the country.

Terry and Angelika both design. It is their strength and will collaborate on each garment, sometimes following separate inspirations, but always resulting in a unique and timeless creation.

For many years they travelled extensively to source unusual and good quality fabrics, both in the UK and abroad.  The linens they currently work with are commissioned and woven by a small family business in southern Ireland, which it is prewashed to create a unique texture and feel.

A family business

Within the last 7 years they renovated an old Methodist Chapel in Glastonbury, now a stunning bespoke building which houses every aspect of the business, from the design stage to finished garment. On the first floor is a beautiful light filled showroom and below are the cutting tables and sewing machines, where they work together producing their designs with a small team of skilled staff.

Terry’s son Jethro was part of their renovation project, at the same time he joined the business, soon establishing connections with retail outlets in the US and Fenwick of London and is closely involved with the design and production of new fabrics at the Irish mill. Jethro is a valued part in all aspects of the family business.

Another member of the family, Indigo their daughter of 23, who studied Fashion communication at university is continuing the family involvement by helping with the hair, makeup and some modelling at photoshoots, who knows what the future will bring!
